Kitchen Assistant at Merlo Coffee George St

Start: ASAP Where: Brisbane City, QLD Type: Part time / casual Pay: On application

JOB DESCRIPTION

If you don't mind early mornings, love food and are skilled with a kitchen knife then we want to hear from you!

Monday to Friday - no evening or weekend work!

Key responsibilites include: 

- Food preparation/ serving: perform food preparation of cabinet items eg. wraps, panini's focacia's, sandwiches, fresh salads, frittata, muffins and catering platters

- Product knowledge: advise customers and staff on gluten free, dairy free and other diatary specifications in addition to in-store specials

- Kitchen organisation: manage the work flow and meet preparation targets, complete food safety checklists and other OH&S procedures, order stock and food items for the store. 

- Customer service: ensuring Merlo's customer-focused service is upheld at all times. 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Kitchen Hand

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

To ensure your success in this role you will have: 

  • 25-30+ hours per week
  • Experience in kitchen preparation, knife skills desired
  • Expereince in a fast paced hospitaility environment
  • Strong passion for food and commitment to the success of Merlo Coffee
  • Love for routine and structure in your day
  • A fun, hardworking and energetic attitude towards work
  • Food safety and hygiene knowledge
  • Fast hands and ability to work autonomously
